ELTON JOHN Part 1

Well, well, well.  Here I am, so much to tell, although if you listen to my pod cast you heard a lot of it all ready.  The concert in Tallahassee last night was incredible!  It was so good that I’m trying to get my mother to buy tickets for the show in Pensacola and go with me tomorrow, I can’t afford it.

So where to start???  I guess at the beginning.  When I left you yesterday in my last post I was getting ready, after the rose bush drama.  I got a text message from my friend A, who told me that she wasn’t feeling well.  I won’t go into the details but let’s just say something has been going on around here, it ain’t pretty.  OK I guess I have to tell this part.  She had the D word.  If you can’t figure it out email and I’ll be more graphic.  She still wanted to go to the concert but with over a two hour drive to the concert venue I didn’t really think it was a great idea.  So I told her I was going to try to find someone else to go.  I called a few people and then realized I should invite L, but I was worried she was going to have to work which is why I hesitated.  I called anyway, and she said she would love to but couldn’t.  While I was on the phone with someone else she beeped in and said that she could go after all.  I was supposed to have dinner with a friend in Tallahassee but she had another emergency so we canceled that as well.

The last time I went to see Elton I thought we had planned enough time to get there but we were still late to the show.  So this time I wanted to defiantly be there on time.  The ride to Tallahassee was fun, as is anything with L.  We caught up on a bunch of stuff, discussed various interesting topics and sang Elton John tunes at the top of our lungs.  The trip to Tallahassee was much easier than I thought it would be.  Just a straight shot on Route 10.  We got there, parked and got on line to go into the venue.  It was about 6:50 at this time.  L and I could just tell by the different groups of people in line that it was going to be an interesting concert.  You would think that an Elton John concert would be full of older, more subdued individuals.  You’d be wrong.  This was an amalgamation of groups.  We had FSU students, families, older couples, lesbian couples, gay couples.  You name it, they came out to see Sir Elton John.  Finally around seven o’clock they opened up the doors and let us into the civic center.  We had just ridden in the car for 2 and 1/2 hours and didn’t feel like sitting down.  So we walked around a little bit and decided to get something to eat.  We ended up getting hot dogs, which were disgusting and way over priced.  We walked around some more, looking at t-shirts and deciding that they were too expensive.  Finally we were ready to find our seats.  We asked one of the attendants where to go, she pointed us in the right direction.  We made our way down to the floor and the usher took us to our seats.  They were in the sixth row on the right hand side.  L and I sank into our chairs, took a deep breathe, taking in the reality that we were going to be that close!

To be continued……….

  1. What a fun, fun podcast the last one was. You and L did a great job reviewing the concert.
My only observation is that anyone that has spent that much time going to a specific venue (IE: Elton John) should have the routine down by now and not missing things such as batteries!
    Great show!

  2. Thanks Charlie….I usually don’t go back and listen to the podcasts but I listened to that one a couple of times. It was a lot of fun to do and we were hysterical! What a fun night!
