Two eggs, no oil

I just cooked two eggs over easy with no oil.  Ask me how I did it?  Come on ask me?  I’m waiting…..

I used a pan that my father purchased called a scanpan.  We’ve had this pan for about a month or so now and we’ve cooked everything you can imagine in it, with no oil.  Think of the calories that we’ve saved!  It’s amazing.  Every once and awhile my father decides that he has to cook with oil so he’ll put it in the pan and when he takes what he’s cooked out of the pan the oil is to the side.  My true test though was eggs.  At work when we cook eggs, we have a problem if we don’t use lots of butter on the grill.  It always ends up looking greasy, nasty and gross.  So this morning I got up, had a cup of yogurt with some blueberries, but that wasn’t enough.  I got the pan out and put it on the stove, medium heat (what my father told me only to use) and let it heat up.  I cracked the jumbo eggs we had into the pan.  They began to cook evenly but here was the real test.  I put the spatula in the pan and the egg came out immediately.  I flipped it over so the other side could cook.  Then when it was done I took it out of the pan with no problem.

A couple of things you should know about this pan.  You can put it in the oven up to five hundred degrees.  You can use any type of utensil on it with no problem.  Your supposed to wash it immediately after cooking but it really does just wipe out.  If your look to save on calories I’d give this pan a try.  It’s amazing!

  1. Sounded good until I saw the price!
Even @120 calories per tablespoon of oil, I’ll probably still use just a small spray of oil in any non-stick pan!
Thanks for sharing it with us, Ron!

  2. Ron!
You are right! I would not buy the iPhone for me.
I did, however, buy the iPhone for most of our company’s executives!
We also put them on the unlimited plan through AT&T.
    Great podcast!

PS – Thanks for the shout out. I ran the Post-News Colorado Colfax Half-Marathon and set a new PR (Personal Record). I ran the 13.1 miles in 2:20:40!
